My father was a graphic designer back in the 60s who also amassed a collection of art for his home. Changing and replacing mats could get quite expensive. His budget tip, when moving artwork in and out of different frames, was to use inexpensive acrylic paints (Michaels/Walmart) to refresh or recolor a mat still in otherwise good condition.

I love your home, but one thing I can't deal with is the refrigerator stuck up next to the stove. One is hot and the other is supposed to be cold.

The timing of the message in this video was perfect as a reminder of the tricks I use to get through a lot of mind-numbing jobs 😂. It's a busy time and I'm tired. My job list is on the table, and I've stared at it for 10 minutes. I've cleared the clutter from the room I'm working in and opened the windows. The radio is playing fun music. I went for a bath, put clean, comfortable clothes on, a little makeup and perfume. Can't say I'm overjoyed to start the list but I feel more human. Great video. X

Great tips and suggestions. I had a photo of me as a child and I took it to a shop to get it copied. When I took it out if the frame, there was a photo of my mom behind it. It's a treasured picture of her as a senior in high school! I had no idea.

I’m so sorry you had to tear into things to fix the problem. I’m freaking out because we redid our small bathroom during Covid because it was leaking. What a huge mess not to mention, the only tile that came close to matching our floors was marble. Can I say avoid marble at all costs. Anyway, it’s leaking into the hall again. We’ve babied that shower. Someone said maybe it needs to be grouted again but the tile was installed with not much of a grout line. I don’t know what to do. Not to mention the original cost of installing it. I could just cry but I don’t know what to do about it. Anyway, everything looks beautiful and I hope you enjoy your guests. ~ Janet 😘

Buying a new range was a bitter sweet experience. We transitioned from gas to an induction range and can no longer use our copper pots. They are all just decorative now. I also use Bar Keepers Friend.

Oh Rachel what a delightful relaxing video even though it was quite busy! Your words of encouragement on tackling least favorite & sometimes overwhelming jobs were much needed as we’ve been trying to keep our home “manageable” while our family room is being enlarged..i’m so tired of plastic hanging in the doorway and constant dust!! I’m a fan of copper also and have used barkeepers friend but did not know it could be used on copper.. will definitely use it next time.. Your bathroom gallery wall is one of my favorites☺️ Those peach preserves look wonderful and did I spot some sourdough starter on the counter? I baked 2 loaves of bread just a few days ago.. even with the heat here in Ky it was worth it.. it always calms me to bake. Sorry I have not responded to your request for input on future videos of organizing & planning.. I would love a video on how to get started with the process organizing/ reorganizing an area .. especially the kitchen.. where to start is one of my biggest issues! Bar Keeper's Friend is a friend indeed, it works great on porcelain too, if there are stains or dark spots. And oh my, the gallery wall looks so pretty in the corner of the bathroom. I was told many years ago, adding a touch of black to any room makes for a rich look...hmmm. I think they were right! Peach love...I just put up several jars, and I always keep some out for 'plopping' on the grill, they are so good this way. God Bless you all, have a beautiful weekend.

How do you keep your copper from turning green?

Oh I’ve used bar keepers friend for yrs, it’s great stuff! My approach to housekeeping is this. If I have dishes to wash I’m grateful because I have food to eat. If I have laundry to wash I’m grateful because I have clothes to wear. As long as I look at it in a different perspective of what I have that so many others don’t it’s not drudgery. My peach tree is loaded but the nectarine tree froze when it was full of blossoms so none this yr. Have a blessed weekend!

PLEASE use gloves when using Barkeepers Friend, it is a wonderful cleaner, but it contains oxalic acid. Oxalic acid can cause ulcers on your skin and has even been known to cause gangrene.
